New database resources / trial

We have added 3 new resources to the eLibrary Gateway.  2 are permanent and 1 is a one-month trial.  The two permanent services are:

1) Oxford Handbooks Online (OHO)  – we have access to three collections: Archaeology, Classical Studies and History. OHO brings together the world’s leading scholars to write review essays that evaluate the current thinking on a field or topic, and make an original argument about the future direction of the debate.

2) International Historical Statistics – is the latest edition of the most authoritative collection of statistics available. Updated to 2010 wherever possible, it provides key economic and social indicators for the last 260 years, serving as an essential reference source.

The trial is for The Making of the Modern World: 1450-1850: The Goldsmiths’-Kress Library of Economic Literature, 1450-1850 – which provides digital facsimile images on every page of 61,000 works of literature on economic and business published from 1450 through 1850. Full-text searching on more than 12 million pages provides researchers unparalleled access to this vast collection of material on commerce, finance, social conditions, politics, trade and transport.  The trial lasts until mid-August.
