Chemical Database Service transfers to RSC

1 January 7th, 2013 at 12:01

The Chemical Database Service, previously hosted by Daresbury, transferred to the Royal Society of Chemistry on 2nd January 2013 and is now located at http://cds.rsc.org .
Databases currently available are:-
Cambridge Structural Database, ACD/ILab, Accelrys’ Available Chemicals Directory, ICSD, SpresiWeb, Methods in Organic Synthesis, Natural Product Updates and Catalysts¬†& Catalysed Reactions.
Access is currently authenticated by ip address which limits use to on-campus only but login via the Shibboleth system, using our local username/password, is promised by RSC in the future.  In the meantime, we are investigating linking via proxy server which would enable off-campus use.

RSC will be providing news on the service at http://blogs.rsc.org/chemical-database-service/

  1. Access from off-campus is now available via the proxy server. Please connect to the CDS via our eLibrary Gateway (http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/elibrarygateway)where it can be found listed under Science > Chemistry. This route will initiate the proxy server, ezproxy. You will need to login to ezproxy using your usual University username and password.
