Open Education Week Xpert

March 11th, 2013 at 11:03

This week is Open Education Week. Open Education Week’s goal is to raise awareness about free and open educational opportunities that exist for everyone, everywhere, right now.  It is also to highlight how open education can help people meet their goals in education, whether that’s to develop skills and knowledge for work, supporting formal studies, learning something new for personal interest, or looking for additional teaching resources.

There are a number of events being offered across the week by a high number of institutions and organisations, including face to face and on-line sessions. For more information you can visit: http://www.openeducationweek.org/events-webinars/

The Open Nottingham team are running a session as part of the week. This takes the form of an on-line presentation looking at the Xpert suite of tools. The Xpert search engine provides access to 300,000+ open learning resources, making it one of the largest collections of Open Educational Resources (OER) in the world.

Xpert also includes Xpert Attribution, which allows users to search for Creative-Commons licensed images and automatically attributes them. It also allows users to upload images (single or bulk), and automatically attributes them with a Creative-Commons license.

The Xpert presentation is at 3pm GMT on Tuesday 12th March.
