30 days of Moodle: What does Moodle stand for? 19 days to go!

September 4th, 2012 at 08:09

Moodle is an acronym for

Modular Object-Oriented Dynamic Learning Environment

Moodling is sometimes used as a verb to mean:

  1. To dawdle aimlessly, to idle time away.
  2. The process of lazily meandering through something, doing things as it occurs.
  3. An enjoyable tinkering that may lead to insight and creativity.

I hope you don’t feel working in moodle.Nottingham is like number 1 – but it is quite possibly like number 3!

“It’s quite fun really,” said a lecturer I spoke to on the phone the other day. She’s definitely a number 3 moodler.
