I’m currently planning a visit to the University of Nottingham campuses in China (21st-25th November 2011) and Malaysia (28th November – 2nd December 2011) with my colleague Helen Whitehead, so here is my Five Minutes…

What three words describe you?

Tenacious, caring, logical

What’s your job role?

Systems Administrator for Learning Systems including WebCT, Moodle and Equella

Tell us something ‘unusual’ about yourself

I am left handed when I knit, but right handed the rest of the time.

What excites you most about learning technology?

Learning technology allows learners to learn more flexibly: in the way that suits them best, at the time which suits them best, and even at a place that suits them best.

Your top tip(s)?

Pay attention to the details – they can come back to trip you up. Take regular backups of the data that means the most to you. Be cautious with your personal information.

What do you think will be the most important thing in learning technology at the University of  Nottingham in 2011/12?

The migration to Moodle

What have you learned recently?

Things are often more complicated than they seem, but you learn more from the challenges than you do if everything goes as expected.

What are you most looking forward to on your impending trip to China and Malaysia?

Seeing the campuses and the countries, and meeting the people!
